Sericulture

Sericyne is the first company to reintroduce sericulture in France. In the Cévennes, a historic silk production region, Sericyne has trained more than 15 silkworm breeders (sericulture producers). Before arriving in our factory, the silk worms are raised for 30 days by local silk growers. In order to revive this industry, Sericyne, thanks to its team of passionate agricultural engineers, is launching a mulberry plantation program.

Thanks to a patented technique, Sericyne produces exceptional natural and non-woven silk. In the factory, the silkworms are delicately placed on supports and carefully spin their silk on two or three-dimensional shapes on which they are placed. When the supports are covered, the silk can be harvested by our craftsmen. Sericyne is the only company to have this innovative technique, it is an unprecedented know-how that allows us to manufacture 100% natural silk and revive this sector in France.

Sericyne In the heart of the mulberry fields, Sericyne silk is produced in a former silk factory in the Cévennes. Every day, our craftsmen go to look for silkworms from silk growers, silkworm breeders. Educated for 30 days, the insects are scrupulously selected for the quality of their thread and the color of their silk. Once in the workshop, the silkworms are gently placed on molds and painstakingly reproduce two or three dimensional shapes. When the molds are covered, the silk can be harvested by our craftsmen. We can bring it many transformations. We work with a network of artisans with cutting-edge skills (pliers, dyers, embroiderers, etc.). They bring to our material a range
